ASSAM RIFLES AND VILLAGERS UNITE TO ERADICATE ILLEGAL POPPY CULTIVATION AT MOLANGHAT IN CHANDEL DISTRICT OF MANIPUR

Assam Rifles teamed up with the villagers to carry out a successful operation to destroy illegal poppy cultivation over the area of approximately 2.5 sq km at Molanghat village, Chandel on 30 November 2024. The villagers, motivated by the awareness campaigns conducted by Assam Rifles, destroyed the poppy fields to curb the negative impact of poppy on health and society.

Assam Rifles has been conducting awareness campaign since long to educate villagers about the harmful effects on society and consequences of illegal poppy cultivation.

Inspired by the campaigns, the villagers took a proactive step to work for a better future and destroyed the poppy menace with help of Assam Rifles.

The joint efforts of Assam Rifles and villagers highlighted the resolution of both to curb anti-social activities linked to poppy cultivation towards a safe and prosperous future and promoting peace in the region. The active participation of civilians showcased their support for the endeavour of Assam Rifles to promote peace and development in the northeast.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTED WORLD AIDS DAY AWARENESS LECTURE PROMOTING EDUCATION AND COMPASSION AT NEW KEITHELMANBI, IMPHAL WEST DISTRICT OF MANIPUR

On 01 December 2024, Assam Rifles conducted an impactful awareness lecture aimed at educating the community about HIV/AIDS at New Keithelmanbi, Imphal West District of Manipur on World AIDS Day. The event highlighted the importance of early detection, prevention strategies, and combating stigma surrounding the virus.

The event also focused on the global impact of HIV/AIDS, significance of regular testing, and advances in antiretroviral treatment. The lecture underscored the message that HIV is manageable with proper care, reinforcing the theme “Knowledge and Compassion Save Lives.”

Attendees left with a renewed commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for those affected and advocating for broader education initiatives around HIV.

Assam Rifles remains dedicated to raising awareness and working towards a future free from HIV/AIDS stigma and discrimination.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS INTEGRATION TRAINING FOR MANIPUR POLICE RECRUITS

From December 2, 2024, the Assam Rifles, will conduct a week long Integration Capsule for Recruits of Manipur Police undergoing training at Lachit Barphukan Police Academy, Dergaon, Assam. During course of this Capsule, approx 2100 recruits of Manipur Police will be oriented to the rich history, culture and traditions of Manipur, as also about the ethos and bonhomie of Assam Rifles and Indian Army. This specially structured Capsule will be conducted under aegis of HQ 3 Corps and Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South).

The Integration Capsule will focus upon fostering the virtues of harmonious coexistence and inter-cultural tolerance. The initiative will highlight the spirit of national honour and camaraderie among Recruits, as they take the first step of their Police career. To invigorate unity and pride in uniform, several team building exercises have been planned as part of this event.

A dedicated team from the Assam Rifles has moved to Dergaon, Assam, for conduct of this training, scheduled from December 2 to December 7, 2024. The Training is testament to the close cooperation between Assam Rifles and Manipur Police.

Over the period of six days, efforts will be directed towards imbibing qualities of espirit-de-corps and mutual trust among future personnel of Manipur Police, thereby enhancing their cohesiveness and efficiency. These qualities are unique to the Assam Rifles/ Indian Army and constitute the bedrock of their daily routine.

The training is envisaged to enhance the strength and efficiency of Manipur Police, thereby elevating it’s capability to deal with the complex Law and Order situation in the State.
