An unbeaten Bengal Under-19 team stormed into the quarterfinals of the Cooch Behar Trophy after a dominant innings-and-14-run victory over Jammu & Kashmir in Jammu on Monday.
After five successive victories in their group-stage encounter, Bengal, with 34 points, top Elite Group B and are set to play the quarterfinal match at home.
Vishal Bhati (89, 3-116, 4-18) was the star performer for Bengal in the match.
Soumyadip Manna (89), Debangshu Pakhira (85, 2-50, 1-30), Chandrahas Dash (80) and Rohit (40, 1-57, 1-14), Shivamm Bharati (2-59, 3-23) also impressed for the visitors.
“It has been a team effort. Everyone stepped up and performed when it mattered. After a successful Vinoo Mankar Trophy campaign, now doing well in Cooch Behar Trophy is satisfying. Now, the focus will be on quarterfinals,” Bengal head coach Saurasish Lahiri said.
