ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS SUCCESSFUL MEDICAL CAMP
Aimed at promoting health and well-being of internally displaced persons and local villagers in Parbung Village, Pherzwal District, Manipur, Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp on December 14, 2024. The medical camp was designed to cater to the healthcare needs of women, children, and the elderly, including individuals from nearby relief camps. A dedicated team of Assam Rifles doctors, along with two medical officers from the Government Hospital, worked collaboratively to ensure comprehensive healthcare services were available on-site. Volunteers from various Civil Society Organizations and Student Organizations played a crucial role in supporting the camp by assisting with paramedical services and logistics. Their involvement was instrumental in facilitating the successful execution of this initiative in a remote area. Beyond consultations, the camp provided medications for patients suffering from conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, abdominal pain, upper respiratory tract infections (URTI), and fever. Additionally, needy patients received essential medical equipment including lumbar belts, knee caps. The response from the local community was overwhelmingly positive, with a total of 347 residents benefiting from the medical camp. This included 86 men, 113 women, and 148 children, all of whom received much-needed medical attention. This initiative not only addressed immediate healthcare needs but also fostered greater harmony between the Assam Rifles and local communities, reinforcing the commitment to support and uplift those affected by displacement.
ASSAM RIFLES HOSTS ENGAGING LECTURE ON JOINING THE INDIAN ARMED FORCES AT UNITED COLLEGE
Aimed at inspiring and guiding local youth towards a career in the Armed Forces, Assam Rifles organized an interactive session titled “How to Join the Indian Armed Forces” at United College. The event attracted enthusiastic participation from 100 students, including National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets, National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers, and teaching staff. Senior officials from Assam Rifles delivered an in-depth presentation detailing various entry pathways into the Indian Armed Forces, including eligibility criteria, training processes, and the vital importance of serving the nation. The session fostered an interactive environment where students actively engaged with officials, seeking valuable guidance and inspiration for their careers. This initiative reflects the commitment of Assam Rifles to motivate and equip the youth with knowledge about opportunities in defence services.
ASSAM RIFLES COMMEMORATES NATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION DAY
To raise awareness about sustainable energy practices, Assam Rifles commemorated National Energy Conservation Day at Ch Tengnoupal Village. This event aimed to highlight the importance of energy conservation in creating a greener and more sustainable future. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from 15 youths and 41 locals, including the village chief. Assam Rifles personnel conducted interactive sessions that emphasized practical measures for energy conservation, such as adopting energy-efficient appliances, minimizing energy wastage, and embracing renewable energy sources. Through these efforts, the Assam Rifles inspired the community to take small yet impactful steps toward energy conservation. The celebration not only educated participants about sustainable practices but also fostered a sense of responsibility towards environmental stewardship.
