UNWISE HANDLING OF BANGLADESH SITUATION

To-day is the most appropriate Day to recall an inappropriate statement of Dr.Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor to the interim Government of Bangladesh, containing a threat to India, the World’s biggest Democracy that instability in Bangladesh may cause consequential instability of the ” Seven Sisters”, which is still fresh in the memory of the people of this Sub Continent.

Some of the retired Army Officers of Bangladesh and so called political leaders went one step further to warn that they can even capture Kolkata in just four days’ time, which is ridiculous and sounds as a day – dream.

Dear readers, please recall that statement of Dr. Yunus, where he stated:

“If you destabilise Bangladesh, it will spill over all around Bangladesh, including Myanmar and seven sisters in West Bengal everywhere”.

Working for International media as an Independent Broadcast Journalist, I am not allowed to tell everything everywhere but as a proud Indian and the Editorial head of Defence of this Independent website, I feel I have right to reply against his hasty comment because freedom of press still exists.

So, here is my reply:

Dr. Yunus, firstly they are not Seven Sisters, but NORTH EASTERN INDIA , an integral part of our beloved country.

You should remember that without the help of Indian Armed Forces and Govt.of India, the success of Bangladesh Liberation war wouldn’t have at all been possible. Today, a country “Bangladesh” is existing in global map just because Indian Armed Forces stood with you all.

You should also recall that Indian Army lost 3,900 soldiers and nearly 10,000 others were injured, with many left to suffer from life-long disabilities just for establishing Democracy in the erstwhile East Pakistan.

And for your knowledge, Indian Armed Forces is much capable and could give a befitting reply to the enemies if they tried to cross our International borders.
So, please don’t cross your jurisdiction and better maintain a healthy relation with INDIA in your own interest.

Incidentally, it will also be pertinent to reproduce the comments of two retired Senior Indian Naval Officers in this connection.

Uttam Chakraborty, 1971 War veteran, Indian Navy:

“Well said.Md.Yunus is an empty vessel which sounds much. He doesn’t have any idea about how to run the country. He thinks it’s as easy as his money lending business. He doesn’t have any idea about the mighty Indian Armed forces.”

Satish Kumar, Submariner,Indian Navy said :

“He’s dreaming about ‘Seven Sisters’. He might be a Nobel Laureate but he’s a puppet. China and Pakistan are governing it now. Their Army will take control after a coup….east and west Pakistan were ‘two sisters’ with disturbed and conflicted situations….. Indian Armed forces and the government ‘gave birth’ to a liberalised and a free country with a new name and recognition. India lost thousands from the Armed forces… thousands still nurturing their injuries….ISKCON fed them, sheltered them and nursed them. Many Hindus along with the majority Muslims worked hard to build it into a recognised country…. GRATITUDE comes by birth ! Some species are born without it.”

On the occasion of VIJAY DIWAS we hope that realising the gravity of the present situation, the interim Govt. of Bangladesh would soon restore normalcy in the country in their own interest.
