BSF sets a heartwarming example of humanity: Facilitates Bangladeshi sister to gets the Last glimpse of her deceased Indian brother at Zero Line

In a highly emotional and humane gesture, Border Security Force (BSF) of South Bengal Frontier has demonstrated its commitment towards both security and compassion by facilitating a heartwarming reunion between a Bangladeshi sister and her deceased Indian brother. The incident took place on Zero Line (International Border Line) near Border Outpost Mustafapur under the jurisdiction of 67th Battalion of BSF on 02 January 2025.

The incident came to light when the Panchayat member of border village Gangulai informed the Company Commander of Border Outpost Mustafapur about the demise of Abdul Khalid Mandal, a resident of Gangulai village under PS Bagdah of North 24 Parganas district. The sister of deceased residing in the border village Sardar Baripota on the Bangladesh side expressed her wish to bid a final farewell to her late brother. Realising the deep emotional significance of this request, the Company Commander took prompt and empathetic action to reunite the family in this hour of grief. BSF in coordination with BGB made arrangements for the sister and relatives of the deceased to have a last glimpse of late Abdul Khalid Mandal at Zero Line on the International Border.

The family members of the deceased expressed their gratitude for the humanitarian approach adopted by both the border forces.

Speaking on the occasion, Public Relations Officer, South Bengal Frontier, BSF, said, “BSF jawans not only guard the borders day and night but are also prepared to cater to the human and social needs of the people living along the International Border.”
