On 4th January 2025, Assam Rifles organized an awareness lecture for the youth at Nambol, Bishnupur District, to inform them about various state and central government welfare schemes. The lecture covered key areas such as education, health, employment, skill development, and rural development, with a focus on initiatives for economically weaker sections.
The event saw participation from 35 villagers, who engaged in an interactive session, clarifying doubts and understanding the benefits of these policies.
Assam Rifles reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the region and contributing to the socio-economic upliftment of the local communities, ensuring that welfare schemes reach their intended beneficiaries. The session concluded with a motivational video showcasing the forces’ efforts for societal betterment.
ASSAM RIFLES PROVIDE SWIFT RELIEF AND MEDICAL AID
A massive fire broke, engulfing 15-20 houses in Mission Veng, Tengnoupal district, on the night of 04-05 January 2025, causing extensive property damage. Preliminary reports suggest the fire originated from a short circuit and was intensified by 6-8 exploding LPG cylinders.
The Assam Rifles, alongside the fire brigade, worked relentlessly through the night to battle the inferno in the densely packed area. Their swift and coordinated efforts ensured the fire was fully contained by 01:30 am on 05 January 2025, preventing further destruction/ damage.
One man sustained burn injuries and his wife sustained injuries in her ankle during the incident. Assam Rifles personnel promptly administered first aid and facilitated immediate medical attention, ensuring the safety of the injured personnel.
