Governor of West Bengal C.V. Anand Bose inaugurated BSF’s free medical camp and civic action programme

Governor of West Bengal Dr. C.V. Anand Bose along with Inspector General (IG) of BSF South Bengal Frontier Shri Maninder P.S. Pawar, IPS inaugurated a Medical Camp, Civic Action and Cultural Program organized for the border rural communities at Border Outpost Bankra of 118th Battalion on 7 January 2024.

About 1000 villagers from Sanderbil Gram Panchayat and surrounding villages participated in the programme. On the occasion, the Governor distributed stationery to the children, sports material to the youth and blankets and other essential items to the needy. In the free medical camp organized under the program, free health check-up of the villagers was done and essential medicines were provided. The initiative was aimed at providing health facilities and other essential services to the people living in the border areas.

The DIG of Sector Headquarters Kolkata, other senior officers of BSF, local administrative officers of the State Government, medical officers, officials of the Indian Red Cross Society and other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) were also present at the event.

Governor Dr. C.V. Anand Bose in his statement said that “Border Security Force (BSF) is not only doing excellent work in protecting the borders of the country but is also playing a leading role in serving the border communities. This initiative of BSF is an inspiring example towards understanding the needs of the people living in the border areas and providing them support.”
