ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS HIGH-LEVEL SECURITY MEETING WITH KUKI VILLAGE CHIEFS AT CHANDEL DISTRICT

Assam Rifles convened a high-level security meeting with village chiefs from Kuki villages near the India-Myanmar border at Yangnoubung Village, Chandel District.

The meeting, attended by 10 village chiefs, aimed to address pressing security challenges, promote peace building, and strengthen collaboration between the armed forces and local communities. Participants were briefed on the region’s security situation, focusing on cross-border threats and insrgent activities.

Discussions also centered on enhancing village-level security through vigilance, improving communication in sensitive areas, and addressing cross-border issues such as smuggling and illegal migration. Additionally, developmental opportunities, including better infrastructure, healthcare, and education, were explored.

The village chiefs shared their concerns, enabling constructive dialogue and mutual understanding. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of trust and cooperation, with follow-up mechanisms proposed to ensure continued engagement and the implementation of actionable solutions.

ASSAM RIFLES PROVIDES QUICK MEDICAL AID TO INDIVIDUAL IN TENGNOUPAL DISTRICT

Assam Rifles swiftly responded to a medical emergency when Mr. Diolin, engaged in borewell digging at Chongjang, Tengnoupal District, suddenly experienced severe chest pain.

Upon receiving a distress call, Assam Rifles personnel rushed to the scene and conducted a thorough assessment. Recognizing the signs of an acute myocardial infarction, the personnel immediately administered oxygen support to stabilize Mr. Diolin and provided a cardiac loading dose.

Understanding the urgency, the team evacuated the patient to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Moreh for further treatment. Mr. Diolin’s condition has stabilized.

ASSAM RIFLES EXTENDS PROMPT LIFE-SAVING MEDICAL SUPPORT TO INJURED WOMAN IN BUNPUN VILLAGE OF KAMJONG DISTRICT OF MANIPUR

On 08 January 2025, Assam Rifles once again showcased its unwavering commitment to the welfare of local communities by providing critical medical assistance to Mrs. Hangmila, a 40-year-old woman who was injured while cutting wood in Bunpun village in Kamjong District.

During an Area Domination Patrol (ADP), Assam Rifles personnel encountered Mrs. Hangmila and immediately administered first aid. She was treated on-site with five stitches to her wound by the medical team, and necessary medicines were provided to support her recovery.

The swift and effective action taken by Assam Rifles personnel underscores their dedication to serving the people, particularly in remote and inaccessible areas. This compassionate response further strengthens the bond between Assam Rifles and the local population, reaffirming their role as protectors and caregivers in the region.

ASSAM RIFLES DESTROYED FOUR ACRES OF ILLICIT POPPY CULTIVATION AT M HAOPIMOLLEN VILLAGE, CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT, MANIPUR

On 08 January 2025, in a joint operation aimed at eradicating the drug menace in Manipur, Assam Rifles under the with Police representatives from Churachandpur and Sangaikot Police station destroyed four Acres of illicit poppy cultivation in the general area of M Haopimollen Village of Churachandpur District of Manipur. The operation signifies the relentless efforts of Security Forces to curb the production and trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances in the region.

The destruction of poppy fields is a critical step in addressing the root causes of drug addiction and illegal trade network that threatens the social and economic fabric of Manipur.

The actions have far-reaching implications for the community at large in achieving healthier society and protecting vulnerable youth from addiction. Further, it sends a strong message against unlawful activities, reinforcing the strong stance of Assam Rifles against drug menace. ASSAM RIFLES RESCUED 14 CIVILIANS FROM DEEP GORGE IN UKHRUL DISTRICT OF MANIPUR

A timely and efficient rescue operation was conducted by the Assam Rifles in Mapum village Ukhrul district, providing urgent aid to the injured victims. The incident occurred when a vehicle (Mahindra Pick-up) veered off the road nearby Mapum village of Ukhrul district and plunged into a deep gorge.

The rapid response of Assam Rifles from Mapum post with medical team ensured the victims received prompt evacuation and first aid.

The Assam Rifles team worked tirelessly to extricate the victims from the wreckage, providing immediate medical life support. The injured civilians were further evacuated to District hospital in Ukhrul.

The rescue highlighted Assam Rifles commitment of protecting and serving the people even in the most challenging circumstances. Their prompt response, bravery and unyielding efforts reflect their resolve to uphold the safety of civilians in the region, especially in remote and difficult-to-reach areas.

ASSAM RIFLES FELICITATED MR OBED THANGMINSIAM FOR CLEARING COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICES (CDS) EXAMINATION AT TUIBONG VILLAGE, CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT, MANIPUR

Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), felicitated Mr. Obed Thangminsiam, who cleared the prestigious Combined Defense Services (CDS) examination in his first attempt, at Sector Headquarters, Tuibong village, Churachandpur District, Manipur on 09 Jan 25.

Mr. Obed Thangminsiam, whose father is a retired Havildar from Indian Army, has emerged as a beacon of hope during the ongoing ethnic tensions & crisis in Manipur. His remarkable achievement showcases the determination and potential of the youth from this region, even amidst challenging circumstances.

The Assam Rifles’ recognition of Mr. Obed’s accomplishment highlights its commitment to encourage and empower the aspirations of young individuals, especially during such turbulent times. His success serves as an inspiration for many to strive for excellence and overcome the adversities even the sail is rough.

APPREHENSION OF TWO KCP (T) CADRES AT LANGMEIDONG, KAKCHING DISTRICT

Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) in conjunction with Manipur Police, Kakching Commandos carried out a Search operation in the General Area Langmeidong, Kakching District of Manipur on 08 Jan 2025.

Based on specific intelligence regarding movement of KCP (T) cadres in general area Sugnu – Burma road and their involvement in extortion activities in general Area Langmeidong the joint team covertly intercepted an unregistered grey coloured Maruti Suzuki Baleno and detained two individual. Upon spot interrogation and verification, individuals namely Mayanglambam Sanathoi Singh, 30 Yrs son of M Achou Singh resident of Kakching Khunou Chekshapat School Maning Leikai, Kakching and Sanasam Suraj Singh, 27 Yrs son of S Somajit Singh of Wangoo, Bishnupur Dist identified themselves as active cadres of banned outfit KCP(T)

The Individuals were apprehended and the apprehendees alongwith seized items were handed over to Waikhong PS for further investigation.

ASSAM RIFLES HONORS BRAVEHEART RIFLEMAN HANSABIR LAMBU WITH WREATH-LAYING CEREMONY

The Assam Rifles organized a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Battalion Headquarters, Moreh, Tengnoupal District on 10 January 2025 to honor Rifleman (Late) Hansabir Lambu, who made the ultimate sacrifice on 10 January 1956 during a courageous operation against Naga insurgents in Longkhim, Tuensang district, Nagaland.

The ceremony began with the laying of wreaths, followed by a motivational address narrating the inspiring story of the braveheart and his exemplary service to the nation. Rifleman Hansabir Lambu’s dedication and valor were remembered with deep respect and gratitude.

A total of 02 officers, 15 Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), and 140 other ranks of the Assam Rifles participated in the event, paying heartfelt tributes and according to a guard of honor.
