A glamorous evening with the Champions

It was an evening to remember at the Eden Gardens. For the first time ever, cricketing icons Sourav Ganguly, Jhulan Goswami, Mithali Raj, Mohammad Shami along with CAB President Snehasish Ganguly shared the same stage making it a moment to cherish for years to come.

The evening was even more special one as the outstanding achievement of the Bengal Under-15 Women players, who were crowned champions in the BCCI Domestic One-Day Trophy, was celebrated truly.

The performance of the Bengal Senior Women’s Team, who finished as runners-up in T20 and One-Day Trophy and the Bengal Under-19 Men’s team who were the finalists in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy were also lauded.

Speaking on the occasion, CAB President Mr Ganguly said, “I congratulate all the players and support staff of the Bengal U-15 Women’s team, Senior Women’s Team and Under-19 Men’s team for putting in their best efforts to make Bengal proud. They have been incredible this season. I also welcome India women batting icon Miss Mithali Raj, our very own Sourav Ganguly, Jhulan Goswami, Mohammad Shami for being present here. The way Bengal cricket is scaling high, we will surely get to see more laurels in the coming days.”

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly also congratulating the Bengal teams said, “With each passing day, Women’s cricket is scaling higher and higher. The legacy Jhulan and Mithali has left, the young generation will surely learn a lot and take inspiration from this. I congratulate the Bengal U-15, Senior Women’s and U-19 Men’s team for their superb show this season.”

Former India women’s team captain Mithali said, “I am happy to be here at the Eden Gardens. I congratulate the Bengal U-15, Senior Women’s and U-19 Men’s team for their outstanding performance this season. Women’s cricket is surely going higher and higher and we can see the results. I hope with proper guidance we will surely be able to bring more laurels in women’s cricket in days to come.”

Jhulan said, “I am privileged and honored to be here. I congratulate the achievements of the Bengal U-15, Senior Women’s and U-19 Men’s team. I hope with this eagerness we will being more trophies. Women’s cricket is scaling higher and I am sure that in coming days we will more and more women cricketers shining bright.”

Lieutenant General RC Srikanth, Chief of Staff , Eastern Command and Brig.Ajay Kumar Das were also graced this occasion.
