To ensure a peaceful celebration of Republic Day, the Water Police in Guwahati have implemented strict security measures. West Guwahati DCP Padmanabha Barua informed that special inspection drives are being conducted at various entry points of the city to keep a close watch on criminals.
Since Thursday morning, a special team of Water Police, led by DCP Padmanabha Barua, has been closely monitoring various ghats along the Brahmaputra River. This operation started at Pandu Ghat and is being extended to other major river ghats. The primary objective of this initiative is to ensure that the public can celebrate Republic Day without any disruptions.
According to the West Guwahati Police Administration, this special drive is being conducted to prevent any untoward incidents on such an important occasion. The police have also urged the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activities.
