Jumde Yomgam Gamlin is a 59-year-old social worker from Arunachal Pradesh who has been awarded the Padma Shri in 2025 for her outstanding contributions to social work.
She is the chairperson of Mother’s Vision, an NGO established in 2013 that focuses on fighting drug addiction and alcoholism.
Gamlin’s NGO started in Aalo town and gradually expanded its anti-addiction efforts to nearby villages and schools. A significant turning point came in 2014 when Kennedy Bagra, a recovering addict, joined the team and helped design more targeted campaigns.
Her relentless efforts have made her organization a beacon of hope in the fight against addiction in Arunachal Pradesh
