ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES AND DESTROYS ₹5.85 CRORE WORTH OF MARIJUANA IN TRIPURA CRACKDOWN

In a decisive action against narcotics trafficking, Assam Rifles, in coordination with the District Police Headquarters, Sepahijala, and Sonamura Police Station, conducted a successful operation in general area of Batadhala, Sepahijala district, Tripura. The operation led to the seizure of marijuana worth ₹5.35 crores and the destruction of 15,000 marijuana saplings valued at ₹60 lakhs, bringing the total valuation of the bust to ₹5.85 crores.

Acting on credible intelligence, the joint team swiftly executed the operation, dealing a significant blow to illegal drug cultivation and smuggling networks in the region. The seized marijuana was handed over to the police for further legal proceedings, while the illicit plantation was destroyed on-site to prevent its further exploitation.
