In a significant initiative to promote sports and youth engagement, Assam Rifles formation distributed sports equipment to the youth of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, Manipur. The distribution drive was aimed at fostering a spirit of sportsmanship, encouraging participation in sports and strengthening community ties through sports.
The initiative was undertaken in response to a request from the Tangkhul Mayar Naga Long (TMNL), a youth organization seeking Assam Rifles’ support in providing sports equipment for the training of over 40 aspiring footballers from various villages in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts. This training, set to take place from 4 to 15 February 2025 as part of Phase 2 of their development program, aims to equip young athletes with the skills and resources needed to pursue their dream of representing the national team.
The young recipients expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Assam Rifles for its unwavering support toward their growth and aspirations.
ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS WREATH-LAYING PARADE ON MARTYRS’ DAY
Assam Rifles conducted a solemn wreath-laying parade to commemorate Martyrs’ Day (30 January 2025) and pay tribute to the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
The event witnessed the participation of 09 Officers, and nearly 500 personnel. Wreaths were laid at the memorial, followed by a solemn two-minute silence.
Officials of Assam Rifles emphasised the significance of the day, urging all ranks to draw inspiration from the courage and dedication of the fallen heroes. The ceremony reflected deep respect and remembrance for their sacrifice.
