In a meticulously planned joint operation, Assam Rifles and Customs department successfully intercepted an illicit drug consignment in Dholai village, Cachar, Assam, on February 6,2025 dealing a significant blow to narcotics trafficking in the region.
Acting on specific intelligence, the joint team apprehended one individual and recovered nine soap boxes containing 123 grams of brown sugar, with an estimated market value of ₹86.10 lakh. The swift and coordinated operation resulted in the seizure of the contraband, preventing its distribution and curbing the spread of drug-related activities in the area.
The recovered narcotics alongwith apprehended individual have been handed over to the concerned authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings. This operation highlights the unwavering commitment of Assam Rifles and Customs in combating cross-border smuggling.
