In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Customs Preventive Force, Sonamura, successfully seized and destroyed a large quantity of marijuana in general area Dhanirampur, Sepahijala district, Tripura during the late hours on 06 Feb 25. The operation led to the confiscation of marijuana worth ₹1.03 crores and the destruction of 28,500 marijuana saplings valued at ₹1.1 crores, bringing the total valuation to ₹2.13 crores.
Acting on a precise intelligence, the joint team executed the operation, striking a significant blow to illicit drug cultivation and smuggling networks in the region. The seized contraband was handed over to the concerned authorities for further legal action.
The successful operation underscores Assam Rifles’ relentless efforts in combating the menace of drug trafficking and ensuring a drug free society.
