The Indian Army organized the Dooars Football Tournament 2025, an initiative aimed at enhancing civil-military cooperation and fostering social cohesion through sports.
The tournament took place from 04 to 08 February 2025 at James School Ground, Binnaguri, North Bengal, with teams from various regions, including Bhutan, participating.
The event was designed to promote sportsmanship, youth engagement, cultural exchange, and stronger ties between the Indian Army and government organizations in North Bengal. It also served as a platform for fostering bilateral relations between India and Bhutan.
The tournament featured 20 teams, including two from Bhutan, competing in an intense series of matches. In the thrilling final, Karbala Tea State emerged victorious over Binnaguri Tea Garden.The grand closing ceremony was attended by senior military leadership along with dignitaries from the civil administration of the Dooars region.
The overwhelming participation of residents highlighted the success of this collaborative effort between the Indian Army and local administration, reaffirming their commitment to regional development and unity in North Bengal.
