In a crucial operation aimed at eradicating the drug menace in Manipur. Assam Rifles in collaboration with Manipur Police, destroyed approximately Five Acres of illicit poppy cultivation in the general area of G Monglian Village under Sangaikot Sub division, Churachandpur District, Manipur on February 8, 2025. The operation was conducted from early morning hours till late afternoon.
The destruction of poppy fields is a critical step in addressing the root cause of drug addiction and illegal trade network that threatens the social and economic fabric of Manipur.
This operation underscores Assam Rifles’ dedication in ensuring peace and security in Manipur, especially amidst the ongoing ethnic tensions. The actions have far-reaching implications for the community in achieving healthier society and protecting vulnerable youth from addiction. ASSAM RIFLES STRENGTHENS COMMUNITY BONDS
To nurture unity and goodwill among border communities, Assam Rifles organised a community interaction at Village Bungpa Khullen Baptist Church, Kamjong District (Manipur), on 09 February 2025.
The Assam Rifles representatives engaged in meaningful discussions with the villagers, addressing their concerns, ongoing development initiatives and also upcoming civic action programs. This interactive session strengthened mutual understanding and cooperation between the security forces and the local community.
The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of approximately 225 men, women and children, who expressed their heartfelt gratitude for Assam Rifles’ continuous efforts in ensuring their security and well-being.
