Assam Rifles organized a science competition on the International Day of Women and Girls in Science at All Community Welfare School, Moreh, Tengnoupal District on 11 February 2025.
The event aimed to inspire young girls to pursue education and careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), especially amid the ongoing ethnic crisis disrupting the education system in the region.
The competition featured four teams, each consisting of four girls. It sought to reignite interest in education, spark curiosity and build confidence, demonstrating that despite the challenges, learning and scientific exploration can still thrive.
Around 375 students attended the event, made possible by the support of local educators, community leaders and volunteers who believe in the transformative power of education and its role in resilience and empowerment.
ASSAM RIFLES DEDICTAES BASKETBALL COURT TO VILLAGERS IN MANIPUR
Assam Rifles has constructed a state-of-the-art basketball court at Kachai village, Ukhrul district. The is the first of its kind in the local area aims to promote sports, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle among the youth of Kachai, students of Alfa Christian School and neighbouring villages. The Basketball Court will serve as a hub for people of all ages to come together, stay active and embrace the spirit of the game.
The project was officially handed over to Riamei Jangmei, SDC, DC Office, Ukhrul and Mr. Mingthing R. Shimray, Headman of Kachai Village, by Assam Rifles on 11 February 2025. The inaugural ceremony, attended by a large number of villagers, was marked by traditional fervour, cultural performances and community celebrations.
