In an unprecedented success in its crusade against smuggling activities, Assam Rifles, recovered Methamphetamine Tablets weighing 57.91 kg worth ₹ 173.73 Crore (Rupees One Hundred Seventy Three Crore Seventy Three Lakhs) from General Area Crossing Point 1, Vokte Kai, Zokhawthar, Champhai district on 09 Feb 2025
Based on a specific intelligence about movement of narcotics, Assam Rifles alongwith Zokhawthar Police established an ambush in general area crossing point 1, Vokte Kai. The joint team spotted move of suspected individuals carrying illegal consignment and intercepted them. The suspects got alert and ran away leaving the consignment behind. The entire consignment has been seized by Police Department, Zokhawthar for further investigation and legal proceedings.
