In a concerted effort to promote railway etiquette and ensure a seamless travel experience for passengers, Asstt. Commercial Manager Ravi Shankar Prasad and Mrs. Mahua Das of Sealdah Division conducted a comprehensive ticket checking drive in the Sealdah-Ranaghat section. The drive, held under the leadership of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Sri Pawan Kumar and under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager, Sealdah Deepak Nigam yielded significant results.

During the two days drive, ticket-checking teams identified a total of 749 cases in which 238 without valid ticket and 511 cases of unbooked luggage. These irregularities resulted in a total revenue generation of Rs 98315/-
The primary objective of this initiative was to raise public awareness about the importance of purchasing valid tickets and adhering to railway regulations. By encouraging passengers to book tickets in advance and travel with proper documentation, the railways aim to streamline operations, reduce overcrowding, and enhance overall passenger satisfaction. During the drive, passengers were encouraged to book tickets through digital means such as UTS on Mobile, ATMs, QR codes, etc.
DRM Sealdah Nigam said that, Sealdah Division is committed to provide passengers with a safe, comfortable, and convenient travel experience. Regular ticket-checking drives are a part of the railway’s ongoing efforts to improve passenger services and maintain a high level of discipline on trains.

Passengers are advised to co-operate with railway staff and adhere to all railway rules and regulations. By doing so, they can help create a more pleasant travel environment for everyone.
