The jawans of the 74 Battalion, BSF South Bengal Frontier, organized a Civic Action Programme at Madhya Barunhat F.P. School of north 24 Parganas District on 20 February 2025 to foster community development and promote health and sports among the youth and border communities. The event was inaugurated by Commandant Shri Sanjay Avinash, in the presence of senior BSF officers, jawans, Chairman Barunhat Mohammad Amerul, Gram Pradhan Abul Kalam, teachers, and local dignitaries.
As part of this initiative, stationery and sports items were distributed to more than 200 school children from Barunhat, Kalutala, and Hingalganj along with players from 15 local sports clubs. The primary objective was to support students in fulfilling their educational needs while also encouraging physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among the youth.
Addressing the gathering, Commandant Shri Sanjay Avinash expressed his gratitude towards the local community for their unwavering support and cooperation. He reiterated BSF’s steadfast commitment to conducting similar welfare initiatives in the future to enhance the well-being of border residents. He assured that BSF remains dedicated to addressing the needs of the border population, ensuring their welfare and security remain a top priority. The local residents welcomed the programme with enthusiasm and appreciated this humanitarian effort of BSF.
