SEALDAH DIVISION LAUNCHES INTENSIVE CAMPAIGN TO PROMOTE AUTOMATIC TICKET VENDING MACHINE (ATVM) & UTS ON MOBILE APP TO CURB TICKETLESS TRAVEL

Automatic Ticket Vending Machine (ATVM) provides the most convenient, passenger friendly and accurate way for commuters to purchase tickets. Using ATVMs extensively by Railway users have numerous benefits. ATVMs enable passengers to purchase tickets quickly, reducing waiting time in queues. Moreover, ATVMs have a user-friendly interface, making it convenient for passengers to select their destination, pay and collect their tickets. Wide use of ATVMs provides Railways the opportunity to optimize staff deployment and redeploy personnel to other areas of public convenience. In a nutshell, ATVMs help in increase of passenger revenue by reducing ticketless travel and promoting cashless transactions in new Digital India.

Indian Railways is promoting use of ATVM and UTS On Mobile App across the nation for encouraging seamless travel and cashless digital transactions. In a similar endeavour, Commercial Department of Sealdah Division has launched an extensive awareness campaign in Sealdah-Bangaon section to promote the use of the UTS on Mobile App amongst passengers to curb ticketless travel. This initiative, aimed at enhancing passenger awareness, is being conducted under the guidance of the Sr. DCM Sealdah  Pawan Kumar and under the inspiring leadership of Sri Deepak Nigam, DRM/Sealdah.

The campaign involves extensive passenger interactions, demonstrations of the UTS on Mobile App features and highlighting its advantages in purchasing tickets. Commercial Department officials are actively educating passengers on how to download and use the App, emphasizing its benefits in saving time, getting cash back and reducing queues at ticket counters.

A special awareness campaign was also conducted at Barasat to assist visually impaired individuals, eliminating their need to stand in queue at ticket counters.  Nigam, DRM of Sealdah, has appealed before esteemed customers to adopt the UTS on Mobile App as it offers a seamless and convenient way to purchase tickets, thereby significantly reducing the instances of ticketless travel. This technology is a step towards modernizing our services and enhancing passenger experience.
