The vigilant jawans of Border Outpost Sutia of 67 Battalion of BSF South Bengal Frontier foiled a big smuggling attempt on the India-Bangladesh international border in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal and seized 103 kg of ganja.
Yesterday evening, on March 3, 2025 the jawans of Border Outpost Sutia of 67 Battalion of BSF in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal received information from reliable sources that illegal items could be smuggled from the border area of Border Outpost Sutia. Based on this information, the jawans devised a special strategy and started strict surveillance on the border area. At around 1:30 am, the jawans noticed 3-4 suspicious persons carrying heavy loads and moving towards the fencing. Acting immediately, the jawans warned the smugglers to stop, but the smugglers fearing apprehension, threw away the goods in panic and fled, taking advantage of the darkness and the populated area.
Immediately after the incident, BSF jawans launched an extensive search operation in the area. During the operation, they recovered 50 suspicious packets, which were later found to contain a total of 103 kg of ganja. The seized contraband has been confiscated and handed over to the Customs Office in Bangaon for further legal proceedings.
