The Governor Assam’s Rashtriya Suraksha Protsahan Yojana took a significant step forward with the successful implementation of its first phase in Guwahati on 12 March 2025. The inaugural event, held at Navdeep Hall, Narangi Cantonment, Guwahati, featured an Awareness Session and Training Workshop attended by 250 NCC cadets, both boys and girls, from various NCC units in the city.
Conceptualized by Raj Bhavan, Assam and executed in collaboration with the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Assam, the initiative aims to educate students across 35 districts on national security concerns. Aligned with the Honourable Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat’ and ‘Vikshit Bharat’, it emphasizes the need for an alert and security-conscious youth. Implemented through 5 NCC Group Headquarters, 27 NCC units, and support from the District
Administration, the campaign focuses on external and internal security threats, including cyber threats, terrorism, border security, and disaster management. The program seeks to instill nationalism and leadership in young cadets, preparing them for active roles in national security.
The first phase was organized by 60 Assam Girls Battalion NCC, Guwahati, with participation from cadets of all NCC units in the city, under the supervision of NCC Group Headquarters Guwahati and NCC Directorate NER.Cadets engaged in expert talks and hands-on training sessions conducted by esteemed organizations. The Army Recruiting Office, Guwahati provided guidance on NDA and SSB preparation, while the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Guwahati conducted a session on disaster management. The Cyber Security Cell, Cyber Police Station, Guwahati educated cadets on cyber security awareness, and NIBUS Academy, represented by Wing Commander Vikas Bargat, offered insights into armed forces induction.
Cadets expressed excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to learn from experts. Many shared that the sessions enhanced their understanding of career opportunities in the armed forces and the significance of national security. The interactive format and firsthand exposure to security challenges made the experience engaging and impactful.
The event was successfully organized through the dedicated efforts of NCC Group Headquarters Guwahati and 60 Assam Girls Battalion NCC, with support from Raj Bhavan, Assam. The Honourable Governor’s vision of a ‘Nation First’ approach is steadily taking shape, ensuring Assam’s youth actively contribute to national security.
