In a special ceremony held at the Nazrul Kalakshetra Auditorium, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha honored esteemed screenwriter Biplab Goswami for his outstanding achievement in winning the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Award for Best Original Story for the film “Laapataa Ladies.”
Dr. Saha praised Goswami, describing him as an idol and pride of Tripura.
Goswami, a native of Tripura, expressed his joy and gratitude for the recognition, stating, “This is a truly wonderful feeling, and I am very happy today.
“Laapataa Ladies,” directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan, has garnered critical acclaim for its compelling narrative and performances. The film was also India’s entry for the prestigious Oscar awards, reflecting its significant impact in the film industry.
The felicitation ceremony was organized by the Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) department of Tripura, led by Director Bimbisar Bhattacharjee, and attended by several dignitaries. The event highlighted the state’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating the achievements of its artists, inspiring future generations in the creative field.
