March 25, 2025 marks the date when India pay heartfelt tributes to the Bravehearts who fought with tenacity in 1971 Indo Pak War for the liberation of West Pakistan which is now in Bangladesh.
Lieutenant General Sanjay Malik, Sena Medal, General Officer Commanding 101 Area dedicated the renovated Prerna Stal & Prerna Park, Shillong to the war heroes in a solemn ceremony, attended with fervor by military dignitaries & veterans alike.
The War memorial stands as a symbol of gratitude, honour, dedication & selflessness of our armed forces. Its edifice captures the essence of sacrifice & valour of the war heroes. The nation stands united to commemorate those who had fallen during the war.
It will serve as a reminder to future generations of the enduring spirit of our national heroes.
The ceremony included laying of wreaths followed by a light & sound show showcasing the operations carried out by 101 Area during the 1971 War.
The War Memorial will be open to the public shortly for weekends and will always serve as a place for motivation, national pride and commemoration of the national heroes.
