Spear Corps organized a mega Ex-Servicemen rally in coordination with the Assam and Arunachal Pradesh State administration was organised in Likabali Military Station on March 23, 2025. Lieutenant General KT Parnaik, (Retd), Governor of Arunachal Pradesh graced the occasion along with large number of military and civil dignitaries. The event witnessed large scale participation with _ Veterans, _ Widows, _ Disabled Soldiers, __ Veer Naris, _ NOKs and __ dependents. The focus of the rally was to connect with veterans and to resolve grievances / anomalies in disbursement of pension, land and legal cases and other issues being faced by veterans, veer naris and other dependents.
Representatives of CDA Guwahati, ECHS, District Sainik Welfare Board, State Bank of India, Ex-Servicemen Cell, Station Headquarters Likabali, Soldier Board, Record Offices Cell and reps of civil administration were also present at the venue to address the grievances of the veterans and extend help. A full-fledged medical camp was also organised to mitigate health related issue of veterans. Veer naris were also facilitated by the chief guest on this momentous occasion.
Lieutenant General KT Parnaik, (Retd), Hon’ble Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, recalled invaluable services rendered by the veterans and supreme sacrifice made by the fallen soldiers in service of the nation. He apprised the pensioners and others with regard to various welfare schemes and thanked the civil administration in extending whole hearted support for successful conduct of the said function. A cultural programme was also showcased by Sainik School students and NCC cadets and local dance troupe.
Lieutenant General Abhijeet Pendharkar, Spear Corps Commander, during his address also briefed on the initiatives by the Spear Corps in establishment of Veterans Suvidha Kendra and SEVAA (Spear Corps Empowering Veterans and Aspirants) at Sports Stadium Pasighat. He thanked Vetrerans for making the Rally a success.
The rally was a major step forward in ameliorating day to day problems of the veterans and veer naris. It gave a platform to the veterans to express their grievances directly to the concerned officials. The event was a great success and immensely benefited the veterans fraternity at large.
