JOINT OPERATIONS BY SECURITY FORCES RESULT IN RECOVERY OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION

In a series of operations, Indian Army and Assam Rifles formation under Spear Corps launched intelligence-based operations in the hill and valley districts of Kakching, Imphal West, Senapati, Imphal East and Bishnupur between 22 – 25 March 2025 in coordination with Manipur Police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP and recovered 32 weapons, Improvised Devices (IEDs), grenades, ammunition and war like stores.

Acting on specific intelligence of presence of arms and ammunition in general area Moltinchan in Kakching district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched a joint operation on 22 March 2025 and recovered five weapons comprising one improvised mortar, one 0.303 rifle, one modified Carbine Machine Gun, two Single Barrel Rifle ammunition and war like stores.

In the general area Henbung in Senapati district, intelligence inputs indicated presence of arms and ammunition. Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched a joint operation on 22 March 25 and recovered four bolt action rifles.
On receipt of intelligence inputs of presence of arms and ammunition in general area Sagolmang in Imphal East district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched a joint operation on 22 March 2025 and recovered four comprising two Single Bore Barrel Rifles and two improvised mortars, ammunition and war like stores.

On 23 March 2025, Indian Army launched an intelligence-based operation in general area Phaikot in Senapati district and recovered three weapons comprising one INSAS, one .303 Rifle and one Self Loading Rifle (SLR).

Similarly, in Imphal East district, Assam Rifles launched an intelligence-based operation on 23 March 2025 and recovered two weapons comprising one 2” mortar and one 0.32 mm pistol. In the same district on 24 March 25, Indian Army launched an intelligence-based operation in general area Seijang and recovered seven weapons comprising one 0.22 Rilfe, one 12 Bore Double Barrel Rifle, four 51 mm Mortars and one 9mm Pistol.

An intelligence-based operation by Indian Army in general area Dumpi in Bushnupur district on 24 March 25 resulted in recovery of seven weapons comprising one AK 47, one 12 Bore Rifle, one .303 Rifle, one Double Barrel Rifle, one modified rifle and two improvised mortars.

The recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police.

These coordinated efforts by security forces highlight their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in Manipur.
