The Bengaluru-Kamakhya Express derailed near Nirgundi Station in Cuttack, Odisha, at approximately 11:54 AM on March 30, 2025.
Eleven coaches of the train went off the tracks, One person has been reported dead in this mishap while many passengers are feared injured.
Railway authorities, including senior officials from the East Coast Railway, are currently focused on assessing the situation and restoring normal operations. They have dispatched emergency response teams and medical relief trains to assist passengers and manage the aftermath of the derailment.
Odisha Fire Service Director-General Sudhansu Sarangi confirmed that seven injured passengers had been rescued and taken to a nearby hospital. “The maximum number of injured persons should not be more than 10,” he stated.

The train was traveling from Bengaluru to Kamakhya station in Assam’s Kamakhya station of Guwahati
According to East Coast Railway official, a special train to run carrying stranded passengers to Kamakhya via Cuttack. The same train departed Bhubaneswar at 1435hrs.
