Director General Paramesh Sivamani, is on his visit to Coast Guard Region (North East) from 11-13 April 25, to review the operational readiness and status of ongoing infrastructure development projects in the states of West Bengal & Odisha.
The Flag Officer assumed the charge of Director General on 15th October 2024. An alumnus of National Defence College, New Delhi and Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, the Flag Officer specializes in Navigation & Direction. During his illustrious career spanning over three and half decades he has served in various capacities in ashore and afloat appointments. The flag officer was at the helm of Coast Guard Region (East), Coast Guard Region (West) and Coast Guard Commander (Eastern Seaboard).
The Flag Officer visited the Headquarters of Coast Guard Region (NE), Kolkata on April 12, 2025 and was received with ceremonial 50 Men Guard of Honour in an impressive parade. He was presented with an overview on Coast Guard operations and ongoing infrastructural development projects in the state of West Bengal and Odisha. The Flag Officer in his address, apprised Officers and men on policy reviews, upcoming development in terms of infrastructure, augmentation of CG fleet and international cooperation initiatives.
In order to address and counter the ever-growing maritime challenges and to act as an effective deterrence to nefarious elements in the past decade, the Indian Coast Guard has expanded exponentially. The Coast Guard Region (North-East) is responsible for safeguarding the maritime interests of the nation along the coastline of West Bengal and Odisha including the IMBL with Bangladesh.
