For better Border management and further strengthening the security system along the Indo-Bangladesh border, Shri Ravi Gandhi, Additional Director General (ADG), Eastern Command, BSF, Kolkata, along with senior officers of BSF, undertook an extensive tour of the border areas of Malda districts. He was accompanied by Karani Singh Shekhawat, Inspector General, Frontier Headquarters South Bengal, Kolkata and other officers during the tour.
On 15 April 2025, at around 0945 am, Ravi Gandhi, ADG and Karani Singh Shekhawat, Inspector General Frontier Headquarters South Bengal Kolkata, left from 71st Battalion Headquarters Vaishno Nagar and at about 1145 am reached the unfenced area of Border Outpost Tilasan under 12th Battalion BSF. Gandhi reviewed the Border domination and security arrangements in the area and gave necessary instructions. Sh Gandhi also visited the border areas falling under Border Outposts Anuradha and Mansa Mata of 12th Battalion. Addressing Sainik sammelan at Border Outpost Mansa Mata, he enlightened BSF jawans on the current situation prevailing in Bangladesh and alerted them about the likely issues to be addressed. The jawans frankly expressed their views on issues related to smuggling,
infiltration and emerging threats in the fast changing conditions. Additional Director General listened to their views and gave necessary instructions. ADG BSF praised the vigilance, discipline and dedication of the jawans. He made them realize the significance of their contribution and its importance in the security of the country and boosted their morale.
Today, Ravi Gandhi also visited the violence-affected areas and took stock of the security arrangements and gave necessary instructions to the deployed jawans for utmost vigilance and alertness.
In view of the current situation in Murshidabad district, Gandhi appeared very concerned in ensuring adequate security of the international border and directed all concerned to ensure it. Senior officers of the Border Security Force, accompanying Shri Ravi Gandhi on the border tour, assured him of full proof arrangements. Sh Gandhi expressed satisfaction with the existing arrangements to keep the international border area completely safe.
ADG Ravi Gandhi, through his visit, gave a clear message that Border area is completely safe and secure and every effort will be made to further strengthen the border management and security system on the India-Bangladesh border. He clarified that the safety of Nation is a top priority, and any kind of negligence in this direction will not be tolerated.
