Indian Army’s 101 Area celebrated their Raising Day yesterday

Lieutenant General Gen Sanjay Malik, SM , GOC 101 Area, laid wreath at the Rhino Prerna Sthal on 22 April 2025 on the occasion of the 62nd Raising Day of the formation in a solemn ceremony to pay tribute to the fallen heroes of the 1971 Indo-Pak War.The gesture emphasises the formation’s deep commitment to honouring the valour and courage of those who fought and made the ultimate sacrifice in service of the nation.

The Raising Day celebration served as a moment of reflection on the formation’s rich history and achievements since its inception on 22 April 1963. Apart from its stellar role during the 1971 Indo-Pak War, the formations over the years have played an active role in counter insurgency operations and humanitarian aid demonstrating its unwavering dedication and professionalism in service of the nation.

The day reaffirms the formation’s commitment to the nation and renewed dedication of All Ranks to continue upholding the highest traditions of the Indian Army. The formation continues to serve as a nerve center of strategic planning and execution, the Raising Day being a reminder of the illustrious legacy and its critical role in ensuring operational preparedness and coordination across commands.
