In sync with broad contours of NCC participation defined by DG NCC during his recent visit to the Directorate, NCC Cadets of West Bengal & Sikkim Directorate are all set to launch the Vibrant Village Programme, initially reaching out to remote border villages in the Changu region of Sikkim.
Furthering National Vision of Vibrant Land Border areas, within broad theme of Viksit Bharat at 2047, NCC Units have synergised a series of activities in close consultation with locals and civil administration which shall be progressed from 25 April to 29 April 2025 to promote eco tourism, progress extensive cleanliness drives, hold awareness rallies on waste management and undertake varied initiatives to meet local aspirations through active engagement across all remote villages in Changu border belt.
This immersive experience for NCC Cadets aims at fostering pride in our diverse cultural heritage reflecting the passion to promote national unity through active engagement of remote border areas. The VVP efforts mark NCC collaboration with various stakeholders in extremely remote border areas to include Army units, local youth organizations, NGOs and civil administration.
Series of such NCC initiatives across border villages of Sikkim and West Bengal are scheduled to roll out in coming months with NCC Cadets getting embedded in community driven development, cultural exchanges and tailored socio economic empowerment.
The vast reach of NCC renders strength to the National effort of integrating/developing border areas and further promotes spirit of Nation First in our young future leaders.
