In a vibrant celebration of Indian classical dance, three young disciples of Manjary Dance Academy—Shreyashee Chowdhury, Sreejita Chowdhury, and Dikshita Majumdar—mesmerized the audience with their Bharatnatyam Arangetram, marking their formal debut on stage. The grand event was held at the Purva Tirupati Balaji Temple Auditorium under the artistic and spiritual guidance of their esteemed Guru, Tatini Das.
The Arangetram, a significant milestone in a dancer’s journey, was graced by the august presence of doyens from the world of Indian classical dance and music. Bayanacharya Ghanakanta Bora Borbayan and Bipul Das extended their blessings, alongside renowned personalities such as Anjanamoyee Saikia, Anu Basumatari, and Debashish Saha.
The evening was further enriched by the presence of distinguished artists and critics including Atul Dutta, Nandini Saha, Rijumoni Goswami, Ankita Kulabhi, Paromita Nagdey, Arghya Mahapatra, Sanchita Banerjee, Shyamali Chanda, and Alpana Talukdar, whose support and presence added gravitas to the occasion.
The three performers, each balancing their academic commitments with artistic dedication, stood as examples of discipline and devotion. Shreyashee, a student of Class 10, and Dikshita, a Class 11 student, both hail from Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti, while Sreejita, currently in Class 12, represents Delhi Public School, Guwahati.
Adding to the celebratory spirit, young dancers from both Manjary Dance Academy and Nrityanjali Kala Kendra showcased their talents in delightful group performances, weaving a colorful tapestry of rhythm, expression, and tradition.
The Arangetram served as not only a personal triumph for the three performers but also a proud moment for the Assamese cultural community, reaffirming the enduring legacy of classical Indian art forms and the commitment of the next generation to uphold them with grace and pride.
