To further strengthen the border management and security system, Additional Director General of the BSF Eastern Command, Kolkata, Shri Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IPS, undertook a comprehensive three-day visit to the border areas of Nadia, Murshidabad, and Malda districts from 10 to 12 June 2025. He was accompanied by Inspector General of South Bengal Frontier Headquarters, Kolkata, Shri Anish Prasad, Deputy Inspector General of Sector Headquarters Berhampur, Anil Kumar Sinha, Deputy Inspector General of Sector Headquarters Malda, Mitrabhanu Mahapatra, IPS, along with other senior officers.
On 10 June 2025, Shri Aggarwal inspected the Shikarpur Border Outpost under the 11 Battalion. During the visit, he conducted a review meeting focused on border management, operational preparedness, and patrolling arrangements. Demonstrating his commitment to environmental protection, he also planted trees within the outpost premises. Following this, he inspected the Madhubana and Jalangi border outposts and reviewed the domination line. Aggarwal established direct communication with the jawans, attentively listening to their concerns, requirements and challenges. The personnel shared valuable insights regarding smuggling, infiltration and the evolving conditions along the border. Taking their concerns seriously, the ADG issued clear and appropriate directives to address the matters effectively. He commended jawans for their vigilance and dedication and appreciated the force’s efforts in effectively curbing smuggling activities.
On the second day of his tour, on 11 June 2025, Shri Aggarwal inaugurated the newly constructed Kakmarichar Border Outpost of the 73 Battalion. He interacted with the jawans, motivating them to remain vigilant and continue their commendable service. The ADG, along with the IG, congratulated all officers and personnel for their dedication and courageous actions. Subsequently, he visited the Neemtita Border Outpost of the 71 Battalion, accompanied by Aneesh Prasad and Mitrabhanu Mahapatra. There, he conducted boat patrolling and inspected the security arrangements in the Neemtita, Shivpur Ghat, and Mandir Ghat areas. He then visited Sabdalpur, an unfenced area under the 119 Battalion, where he reviewed the surveillance and domination plan. The ADG also conducted a thorough inspection of the night patrolling and surveillance systems. Additionally, he visited the Churiyantpur Border Outpost to evaluate the recently repaired IBBF structures along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
On the last day of his visit on 12th June, Shri Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal inspected Border Outpost Mahdipur of 119 Battalion under Sector Headquarters Malda of BSF. During the inspection, he met the deployed jawans and had informal interaction with them. All senior officers were also present on the occasion. Thereafter, Aggarwal visited LCS Mahdipur, where he interacted with the jawans on duty and also interacted with the officers of LCS Customs and the tourists present there. In the concluding leg of his tour, Aggarwal inspected the border outposts of the 88 Battalion at H.C. Pur and R.K. Wadhwa. Inspector General of South Bengal Frontier Headquarters, Shri Anish Prasad, IPS, accompanied him during these inspections.
Through his three-day tour, Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal conveyed a clear message that border management and operational preparedness will be further reinforced, and the force is continuously working towards this objective. He emphasized that all necessary measures will be taken to thwart any attempts of smuggling and infiltration by enhancing the effectiveness of border fencing and patrolling systems. Aggarwal also firmly stated that border security remains the top priority, and any form of negligence in this area will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
