The Indian Coast Guard Region North East, along with its subordinate units, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with enthusiasm and wide participation across multiple locations. The activities were organised in alignment with this year’s global theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” promoting unity between individual wellness and environmental balance. Certified instructors led the sessions, focusing on practical benefits and long-term wellness.
At Coast Guard District Headquarters (Odisha) and its units at Paradip, yoga sessions were conducted from 10 to 21 June 2025, involving NCC cadets, local fishing communities, CISF personnel, students, and members of various government and non-government organisations. Over 250 Coast Guard personnel and their families took part, reinforcing community engagement and health awareness.
In West Bengal, Coast Guard District Headquarters (Haldia) held a dedicated yoga session on 21 June 2025, with participation from service personnel and families. Guided by experienced instructors, attendees performed asanas, breathing techniques, and meditation exercises focused on stress relief and physical well-being. Additionally, a special community-integrated yoga session was organised by Coast Guard Air Enclave (BSR) at Madhusudan Park, Bhubaneswar, marking a collaborative effort between service personnel and civilians. The session promoted social harmony and highlighted yoga as a bridge between the armed forces and the community.
Across all units, participants followed the Common Yoga Protocol, received insights into India’s rich yogic heritage, and pledged to integrate yoga into their daily routines. The collective spirit of participation underscored the Indian Coast Guard’s enduring commitment to holistic well-being—a true embodiment of its motto: “WE PROTECT.”
