The Government of India yesterday appointed Parag Jain, IPS (PB: 1989) as the Chief of R & AW.
The officer played a critical and crucial role during the planning of ongoing Operation Sindoor – in terms of identifying and execution of strikes on terrorist infrastructure and camps in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and deep inside Pakistan territory.
Known to be “Master Spook” within the intelligence community, the officer has earlier held crucial stints in Jammu and Kashmir; with tenures of reckoning in Sri Lanka and Canada.
The appointment of Parag Jain as Chief of India’s external intelligence agency comes at a time of heightened and escalated security environment inside and outside the region.
