Raj Bhavan Assam under the leadership of Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya today held a meeting to take stock of the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 at Raj Bhavan campus here today.
The meeting brought together Vice-Chancellors and senior officials from some of the universities of the state.
The meeting conducted by Advisor to the Raj Bhavan Secretariat Dr. Harbansh Dixit and OSD Raj Bhavan Prof. Bechan Lal, took note of the status of implementation of the NEP 2020 by the universities.
The meeting held discussed comprehensively key pillars of higher education under NEP 2020,including Skilling, Research and Development, innovation, entrepreneurship, Alumni-Academia-Industry Linkage, and the Holistic Development of Human Resources.
Toeing the advice of the Governor, the meeting emphasized the critical role of higher education institutions in shaping a future ready generation and reaffirmed Raj Bhavan’s commitment to support initiatives that advance student welfare, institutional excellence, and inclusive education.
Moreover, considering the important role of NEP 2020 in transforming the higher education and making universities the hub of research and development, the meeting exclusively called upon the role of the VCs to make the institutions of higher education in comprehensive implementation of the NEP 2020.
Today’s meeting witnessed active participation from Dibrugarh University, Assam Women’s University, Bodoland University, and Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University which are represented by the Vice-Chancellors, Registrars, Academic Registrars, IQAC Directors, Coordinators, and other senior academic officials.
It may be noted that today’s meeting was a part of a series of meetings held in Raj Bhavan for effective implementation of the NEP 202. The meeting was also attended by the senior officers of the Raj Bhavan and higher education department.
