Summer Camp Nurtures Young Talent Beyond the Classroom

Summer camps create numerous learning opportunities for children—whether it’s music, dance, art, or painting, the learning that takes place in camps is often more effective, offering practical knowledge and real-world experience.

Summer camps are extremely beneficial to students. They provide engaging experiences through a wide variety of activities, helping children develop both emotionally and socially. Unlike traditional classrooms, camps offer a more hands-on environment where communication skills and social interaction are naturally enhanced.

As most schools across the city begin their summer vacation from the first week of July until early August, many institutions are embracing the concept of summer camps to keep students engaged in meaningful and creative ways. Both government bodies and private organizations have stepped forward to organize these camps, offering sessions in art, dance, storytelling, and other enriching activities aimed at holistic development.

In keeping with this trend, Modern Public Academy in Alikash, Pakarkona, located in the Kamrup Rural district, successfully hosted a summer camp this year. The camp featured a wide range of activities designed to nurture students’ innate talents and encourage them to explore interests beyond academics.

Principal Mrs Sulipi Halder shared that the initiative was intended to provide students with a break from the pressures of competition and examinations. “Through this summer camp, students find a space to grow emotionally, socially, and creatively. It allows them to engage in fun and interactive learning experiences while building friendships and confidence,” she said.

Vice Principal Ms Parbin Saikia was also present at the camp, where she motivated the students and praised their enthusiasm. The entire teaching and non-teaching staff actively participated in mentoring and guiding the children, making the camp a collaborative and joyful experience for all.

Mr Ahmed Rocky Saikia (IItian) currently a student at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Switzerland, graced the event as a special guest, inspiring the students with his presence. He introduced AI and Robotics to the students.

The camp stands as a testament to the school’s commitment to all-round development, ensuring that education goes beyond textbooks and examinations.
