N. F Railway has decided to increase the frequency of two pairs of passenger trains which operates between Silchar and Maishashan. These include train no. 55662/55661 & 55686/55685 (Silchar – Maishashan – Silchar) passenger which frequency have been increased from present two days in a week to six days in a week.
The decision by N. F. Railway to increase the frequency of these passenger trains will bring several key benefits to the people of this locality and its adjacent areas. The frequent service will ensure better daily or near-daily access between Silchar and Maishashan, which is especially beneficial for regular commuters, traders, students and office-goers. This increased train services will aid movement of small traders, agricultural produce and daily goods, thereby stimulating local economies and markets.
The frequency of train no. 55662/55661 (Silchar – Maishashan – Silchar) passenger which was previously used to run only two days a week, will now run six days in a week (except Friday) in both directions w.e.f. 28th July, 2025 from their respective directions.
Similarly, the frequency of train no. 55686/55685 (Silchar – Maishashan – Silchar) passenger which was previously used to run only two days a week, will now run six days in a week (except Sunday) in both directions w.e.f. 28th July, 2025 from their respective directions.
