Assam State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Govt. of Assam had inaugurated a dedicated Legal Services Clinic at Sainik Bhawan, Rajgarh, Guwahati.
The said clinic was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India and Executive Chairman, National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) virtually along with
other such clinic throughout the country under the “NALSA Veer Parivar Sahayata Yojana, 2025”, from Jammu & Kashmir during the Regional Conference of State Legal Services Authorities (SLSAs).
This Scheme aims to provide free and competent legal services to Defence Personnel, Exservicemen, and their family members, by establishing dedicated Legal Services Clinics in collaboration with the Kendriya Sainik Board, Zila Sainik Board and Rajya Sainik Board under the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence. These Clinics will ensure seamless access to NALSA’s nationwide network of legal aid lawyers for prompt and effective legal assistance. This initiative stands as a tribute to the selfless service of our nation’s defenders
and furthers NALSA’s vision of “Access to Justice for All.”
The inauguration programme at Guwahati was attended by Brigadier Polash Choudhury,Director of Sainik Welfare, Govt. of Assam and Debasish Bhattacharjee, Member Secretary, Assam State Legal Services Authority (ASLSA) along with other dignitaries.
