Indian Coast Guard rescued 06 more Bangladeshi fishermen from another capsized Bangladeshi Fishing Boat reported to be sunk at 0700 hrs on 19 Aug. Continuing it’s efforts to provide relief during impending weather, in a swiftly executed sea air coordinated operation, Indian Coast Guard rescued 11 Bangladeshi Fishermen stranded onboard Bangladeshi Fishing Boat named Abdula -1. The boat is reported to have been adrift at sea since 03 days due to engine failure amidst rough seas and cyclonic weather.
The rescue of 27 Bangladeshi Fishermen in 03 separate operations conducted on single day amidst extreme challenging conditions and rough seas, reflects the commitment of Indian Coast Guard towards safeguarding precious lives at sea against all odds. Such successful search and rescue operations will not only strengthen the regional SAR structure but also enhance the international cooperation with neighbouring countries.
