Dibrugarh University students interacts with tea garden children 

“PUHOROR OBHIJATRI” – a student led community-based organisation, has conducted “PUHOROR BARTA” an interaction cum brief focus group discussion, a short film screening on social awareness and games with the children of Behiating Tea Estate, Dibrugarh on Sunday as part of the 10-day campaign initiative to create against child labour in collaboration with save the children.
Public Relations students of the Centre for Studies in Journalism and Mass Communication initiated this event as part of the 10 days campaign against child labour among the children, of Behiating Tea Estate, Dibrugarh.
Throughout the day exciting games were played before the focus group discussion, to create a friendlier atmosphere among the children, and exciting gifts were also distributed among the children for their participation in the games. A short film on awareness against child labour was also screened before the children followed by the focus group discussions.

“There is hope and confidence that the PUHOROR OBHIJATRI’s campaign against child labour will go a long way in developing conviction in the communities that there is need to ensure that every child goes to school, receives education and not forced to work will change the apathy of the people towards child labour violators hence completely eradicating the vice from the community,” the organisers said.
