After the victory of the Argentina football team in the World Cup on Sunday. Congress MP from Assam’s Barpeta Constituency Abdul Khaleque claimed Lionel Messi Assam’ a connection.
MP Khaleque tweeted, “Congratulations from the core of heart. We are proud of you for your Assam connection,”
A Twitter user, Aditya Sharma, asked about the MP’s claim and questioned him. “Assam connection?”
Khaleque replied on Twitter, ” “Yes, he was born in Assam.”
Later MP Khaleque deleted the tweet.
