The 25th Annual Meet of Tezpur University gets under way from today.The Annual Meet is an event through which the University organizes wide range of cultural and sporting events/competitions for the holistic development of the students. The meet scheduled to take place from 09-11 February, 2023.
Speaking on the inaugural event as the Chief Guest, Deba Kumar Mishra, Deputy Commissioner Sonitpur expressed his pleasure that such meet brings together students from all departments to celebrate their achievements, foster a sense of community, and provide a platform for students to showcase their talents. He also urged the students to enjoy this phase.
Prakash Pradhan, Mr. Assam 2022, present as the guest of honour appealed the students to maintain good health and stay away from bad habits such as drugs.
Addressing the students, Professor Dhruba Kumar Bhattacharyya, Vice-Chancellor advised the students to pursue their passions and interests outside of the classroom. “Success is not a destination, but rather a journey. Therefore, finding something that you are passionate about will not only enhance your education, but it will also bring balance to your life and bring you joy”, Prof. Bhattacharyya said.
During the inaugural day, march past competition was held, where Bordoichila Women’s Hostel and Patkai Men’s hostel emerged victorious, while Pragjyotika Women’s Hostel and Nilachal Men’s Hostel finished as runners up.
