Eastern Command Investiture Ceremony 2023 is being conducted for the first time at Jorhat on 22 February 2023.A ceremony of such a magnitude is generally conducted in the Command HQ at Kolkata. However, in sync with the national policy of taking the conduct of such significant functions to spotlight all important cities of the country, this year’s Investiture Ceremony is being conducted at Jorhat, the Cultural Capital of Assam.
The Indian Army has made noteworthy and significant contributions to maintain peace and tranquility in the North East region and the entire country and in doing so has contributed significantly towards overall nation building. A number of brave-hearts have displayed conspicuous gallantry in protecting the motherland. The Indian Army honours these brave and distinguished personnel periodically.
In this year’s Eastern Command Investiture Ceremony,in addition to the individuals, units which have performed their tasks exceedingly well are also being honoured.In the backdrop of the Investiture Ceremony, a ‘Know Your Army-Equipment Display Mela’ is being organized at Jorhat Sports Stadium on 21-22 Feb 2023. Other than various state-of-art weapons and equipment, the mela will also have informative stalls on various avenues available for joining the Armed Forces, thereby motivating young minds to join the folds of Indian armed Forces. The Indian Army and Eastern Command are committed towards overall peace and tranquility of the region as also the welfare of the entire populace.
