ARMY ORGANISES MEDICAL CAMP AT PHONGLOKPET BOKOLIA IN KARBI ANGLONG UNDER OP SADBHAVANA

Continuing with the endeavour to provide humanitarian assistance to the underprivileged populace of remote villages in Karbi Anglong District, the troops under the aegis of Gajraj corps organised a medical camp at Village Phonglok Pet Bokolia area on 27th Feb 2023 under Indian Army’s Operation Sadbhavana Project.

Army Doctors and Nursing Assistants provided medical treatment to patients from far flung remote areas with inadequate medical facilities.

 


Medical team led by Lt Col Prateek, Maj Sadia Shoeb Farshori and doctors of CHC Dr. Risim Rongip, Dr. Montu Kumar Shyam had set up the medical camp early in the morning, so that maximum people could reap the benefits throughout the day. Beneficiaries were screened for Typhoid, Diabetes and Malaria together with various blood related and Ophthalmology disorders. Locals were also educated about preventive measures for various communicable diseases like, Malaria, Dengue and motivated to practice self- hygiene.

420 persons including children benefitted from the medical camp and were given free medical check-up, medicine and blood test. Mr Kasen Kro (SGB), Sarpanch & Mr Hemari Bey, Gaon Bura of the village, Mr Bidya Hanse and Mr Daya Ram Tokbi President and Gen Secy Ove Kimi Club respectively expressed their gratitude and alongwith locals thanked Indian Army for the humanitarian assistance.
