In celebration of International Women’s Day 2023, Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) is organising a series of activities and events such as Walkathons, Lectures and Exhibitions for Women Entrepreneurs from the Defence fraternity.
AWWA is an association that works for the welfare of the spouses, children and dependents of Army personnel.
Army Wives Welfare Organisation contributes to empowerment of Women Entrepreneurs by registering them on its Official Site www.awwa.org.in. To further enhance and expand their reach as an entrepreneur, an exhibition was organised by Gajraj AWWA at Tezpur on 11 March 2023. The Aim of the Exhibition was to enable the women entrepreneurs to showcase their products to civilian population of Tezpur City and enhance their reach beyond our Cantonment areas.
Women entrepreneurs from various corners of Gajraj Corps like Tezpur, Tenga, Missamari, Rangia and Umroi assembled at Rukmini Bhavan Tezpur for the Exhibition aptly named “Shaswat Sreejan”. The range of products included Jewellery, Paintings, Decoupage, Home Accessories, Bath and Body Products, Home Decor Products and bakery items like Cupcakes and Muffins.
The Exhibition was inaugurated by Sujata Mishra, wife of Deba Kumar Mishra ACS, DC Sonitpur at 10.30 AM and ran throughout the day until 5 PM in the evening. The event saw a large footfall and the general public at Tezpur City witnessed the entrepreneurial spirit of the uniquely talented ladies of the Gajraj Corps fraternity. This event also served to enhance the close bonds of the Indian Army with the locals of Tezpur by celebrating women’s day together.
