The eviction drive was carried out from Bharalumukh via Lokhra to Khanapara area of Guwahati.
It was seen that a large number of people are running their business of selling plastic bath tubs and various other toy items around roadside areas. Footpaths and pavements in unhygenic conditions. This was also causing traffic congestions in the city.
An eviction drive was carried out today on 30th September 2021 by a eam of Enforcement Branch led by Additional Commissioner and Joint Commissioner, Guwahati Municipal Corporation. Against encroachers illegally encroaching footpaths pavements and roadside areas in unhygienic conditions.
Hence, this eviction drive was carried out by GMC and items were seized in the process.
GMC plans to carry out similar evictions in upcoming days.
