GREAT HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE BY THE FRIENDS OF THE HILL PEOPLE- ASSAM RIFLES

ASSAM RIFLES EVACUATES 42 IMMOBILE PATIENTS AND AGED RESIDENTS OF MOTHER TERESA HOME IN IMPHAL: OPERATION JAL RAHAT

In a commendable display of humanitarianism, Assam Rifles under Operation Jal Rahat on 29 May successfully rescued 42 immobile and aged inhabitants from Mother Teresa Institute in Imphal.

The rescued inmates were further shifted in Assam Rifles vehicles to Bishop House Mantripukri where doctors of Assam Rifles provided immediate medical treatment to the inmates at Bishop House, Mantripukri.

 

The nearby affected people were also approached by the Assam Rifles person for rescue. A mother along with her one month lactating baby boy was rescued in a swift manner. A total of 52 individuals were rescued from the location.

ASSAM RIFLES CLEARED ROAD BLOCKADE DUE TO LANDSLIDE AT NH-2 IN CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT, MANIPUR

In a diligent effort, Assam Rifles cleared a significant road blockade caused by a landslide during heavy rains on 29 May 2024. The landslide occurred on NH-2 near Chiangpi village, Churachandpur district. Braving harsh climatic conditions and geographical constraints, these soldiers worked tirelessly to remove debris and ensure safe passage through the road. Their swift and efficient action not only reopened a crucial route but also demonstrated their unwavering commitment to public service.

Local residents and travelers expressed heartfelt gratitude, praising the Assam Rifles for their remarkable commitment and resilience in the face of adversity. The successful road opening is a testament to their determination and selfless dedication.

ASSAM RIFLES DISTRIBUTED ESSENTIAL ITEMS TO INTERNALLY DISPLACED PEOPLE AT RELIEF CAMP AND AT ORIENTAL CHILDREN’S HOME ORPHANAGE, CHANDEL DISTRICT AND CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT, MANIPUR : OPERATION JAL RAHAT

Relentless rainfall owing to Cyclone Remal is being witnessed all over the state of Manipur for the last two days. Many houses were partially or fully damaged and the plight of the inmates of all camps and Children’s homes has become miserable.

Assam Rifles distributed relief materials and essentials to the inmates of Oriental Children’s Home Orphanage School in Chandel District on 30 May 2024. A total of 75 children got relief from the same. The Children’s Home authorities appreciated and expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards Assam Rifles for this thoughtful gesture.

At Relief Camp S Kwatilian village, Churachandpur District, distribution of essential items to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) was undertaken on 29 May 2024. Assam Rifles Soldiers handed over the relief materials which included rice, sugar, salt and other essential items to 76 IDPs, including 15 children and 34 women.

The distribution of essential items was part of the ongoing efforts by the Assam Rifles to reach out to the IDPs to provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by the recent ethnic conflict.

 

ASSAM RIFLES HEROICALLY RESCUES FLOOD VICTIMS AND PROVIDES ESSENTIAL AID IN IMPHAL

Demonstrating unwavering commitment and exceptional courage, Assam Rifles has been at the forefront of rescue and relief operations in flood-affected areas of Imphal. As part of their ongoing efforts, Assam Rifles has successfully rescued 21 neuro patients from the flood-affected Raj Medicity Hospital, numerous individuals, including Mr. SK Dev Barman, IAS, Chairman of the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC), and provided essential aid to the displaced residents.

Assam Rifles teams have been working round the clock to rescue individuals from the floodwaters. Among those rescued include 21 neuro patients from the flood-affected Raj Medicity Hospital in Imphal on the night of 29 May. As part of Operation Jal Rahat, the rescue mission involved evacuating patients from the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors and continued until 10 PM is At MPSC Building, Mr. SK Dev Barman, IAS, Chairman of the MPSC, was safely evacuated by the security force. The prompt and courageous actions of the Assam Rifles personnel have been instrumental in saving lives and providing reassurance to the community.

Distribution of Essential Supplies: To address the immediate needs of the flood victims, Assam Rifles has distributed 5,000 food packets and 3,000 water bottles. These essential supplies have been critical in providing relief to those who have been displaced and are facing hardships due to the flooding.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS ONGOING RESCUE OPERATION IN MINUTHONG AMIDST IMPHAL FLOODS: OP JAL RAHAT

In response to a request from the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Imphal West Police, Assam Rifles being the first responders in the crisis, launched a major rescue operation in flood-affected Minuthong on the evening of 29 May. The operation, which began at 6 PM, has successfully rescued approximately 200 people and is still ongoing.

The rescue mission has been a coordinated effort, utilizing three Assam Rifles boats and one state government boat. The operation has been closely monitored and witnessed by key officials, including the Water Resource Minister of Manipur, MLA Thanga, and MLA Phungyar. This presence underscores the collaboration between Assam Rifles and state authorities in addressing the flood crisis.

Assam Rifles teams are working relentlessly to ensure the safety of the residents affected by the flood and remains dedicated to providing all necessary support to the flood-affected communities in Imphal.
